Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this, I'm going to be recording some demos for our band soon and all I have is a Tascam 2 channel interface and Cubase LE5. I will be recording the drums and a guide vocal initially with a click track before laying down the bass, guitars and proper vocal. My problem is I need to give the drummer a click track from Cubase along with the guide vocal which is ok as they will be from the two channels of the interface but how can I also give him a mix of the Bass and the two guitars while he is recording his drum part? He will have a headphones output from the interface which will only have the click, his drums and guide vocal but nothing else. Sorry if this sounds a bit laboured but new to this and its frustrating me somewhat, thanks in advance.

Not sure i understand, you say his headphone mix will only have click and vocal but you want guitars and bass too? So put guitars and bass in his mix as well?

Send the guitars and bass to the same channels that the click and vocal are going to.

Do a scratch take with just vocals and guitar to a click track. Play that back for the drummer to play over and then go back over it again with vox, guitar, and bass.

Not quite sure what you're saying, but it seems like you're confused. The 2 channel on the interface means you can have 2 input channels, not 2 "output channels"...if you record bass and guitar too, he'll be able to hear everything that's already recorded onto your computer, not just 2 tracks.

If you haven't recorded the guitars and bass yet...how in the name of Christ do you expect him to be able to hear them?
