How to get your name up?

Soundclick is great if you use it correctly, like said. The charts are ok, but if your haven't established your name yet, 1 play is 1 play, regardless of how you look at it like, that in itself is exposure. There's 1 more person in the world that has listened to your music. Then on the charts issue, on the sub sub sub sub charts, you get like 50 plays and get on top LOL. I think they are a joke, the main genre charts are hard to climb up... BUT my opinion goes both ways. Use the charts to your advantage. IF you do cop a good spot in the charts, ADVERTISE THE CRAP OUT OF YOUR MUSIC, along with they "I'm on the top 40 of indie artists on a site against 200,000+ songs" People might steer towards you and see why your top 40 - example. Then you start grabbing in a couple hundred new listeners daily. That is better than sitting at your house and your 5 friends have already heard your music 20 times over. In this industry, I take all leads. Anything that can add up to another listener, fan, business associate, I take it up. That's 1 more I didn't have. There's probably at least 30K+ people who know who I am, or have heard of Mindset Entertainment before minimal.

yeah i get pretyy golod on the SC charts, usually get around 450 on hip hop general charts against like 950,000 and like 120 on sub genre. Highest ive gotten was 73 on sub genre. So far iot sya si have 7,000 hits on my sc page for this yr. But i have nothing to compar ethata gisnts o i dunno if its good or not.

My last SC site, I was averaging around 10K per month. It got up into the millions until some shit happened... Now on my new site, I've gotten about 50K for last year I think.

I gave up on Soundclick. Too many people, want too much for free.

When I put up my Toy Soldiers Remix in 2004, I had over 10,000 downloads in the first week. Then I got an email from Soundclick saying they were investigating me for copyright infringement. I had to take the track down...

I had over 700,000 page hits, and over a million plays in 2004. But as soon as I started advertising my album, and not giving people free songs... the page hits dwindled, and the plays along with it.

I don't take SClick too seriously, personally. It's a cool site for indies, and can be a decent promotional tool... but it won't help your business at all.

They like to investigate people. I figured that out after I've seen it happen, and it happened to me.

they do that cause people are complaining about and these copyright infringment on the sits..so they are tryin to clean it up and get it back to being artist doing original and own work..

look at ass the bull crap ont he charts

lol, i see, are ther any other sites like it that would be better recommended?

um.. your own site?? that's what i'm working on, slowly, but working on it. i was going to code it myself, but a kid i know that just graduated college for business/web design offered to do it for free (we go to the same church & he's the pastor's son). it was gonna cost at least $500 for the whole site... but between paying projects he's going to code mine. and i'm going to help get the coding done of course. i actually just finished my 2nd HTML class and i have Java next semester.

if you want something like soundclick, try purevolume.com. dont know if they have a charts listing, but it's the same deal pretty much.

bless.
