How do I connect my MPC midi to my M-Audio 49 keys keyboard to get sound?
My set up:
Dell Lap top (16 gig Ram)/External Hard drive(1 TB)/Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface/VoiceTone Harmony-G-XT/Sonar Professional, Sound Forge 10/Monitors- M-Audio 8” 3 way/AKG Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic/ Gator Dual Pop Filter/Closed Monitor Headphones/ MPC studio /M-Audio 49-Key MIDI Controller.

keyboard to Scarlett, MIDI in, Scarlett Midi out to MPC. Gets confusing if you want the MPC's output to be recorded - as you're close to a circular path. With routing in the computer software you can usually sort this out, but it's just a bit clunky. If you can use the keyboard instead of the pads, it's more elegant

Thank Rob for your reply my Scarlett doesn't have a midi port just a in/out audio 1/4"

You will have to get a USB to midi adaptor, there are some reasonably priced units out there.
