How To Extend Headphones / Dual?

Hey, I got one pair of Fostex T40 headphones. How is the quality of these? The mix sounds very different from what's coming out of my Yorkville YSM-1 studio monitors. Is it normal to have your headphones sound different than your studio monitors? Also, I would like for my studio headphones to reach to my bedroom, which is the closest thing that I have to a sound-insulated room. However, the cord doesn't reach that far. Should I go with an adapter that connects my headphones to a patch cable, or just a patch cord with a femaled connector at one end? I need to exted the distance of my headphones. Thanks.

A headphone extention cord is probably the easiest way to go.

There are two kinds of headphone extensions and they are the cheapest you can get in cables aisle You can find a 20 feet straight or spiral extension cable fo 5 dollars.

I get my headphone extenders from Radio Shack. Cheap and they do the job

Head phones will always sound different than monitors or speakers...that's why we NEVER use them to mix with. Use the head phones for tracking or listening for details...sure but mixing with them is a big no no.
