How to Convert Audio Song to MP3 ?

Can any one tell me how can i convert a song from my Audio casette into MP3 format ?
I am Naive to this Could you please explain.

MusicMatch will record from the line-in on your sound-card and can convert WAV to MP3 and the other way around. It's not my first choice, but it's easy and free.

MM will do CD ripping too, Wawa. There's better stuff out there, but it'll get you started at least.
