How to connect all this?

I'm not sure how many outputs those mixers have, ie if you'd get 8 seperate outputs for the 8 inputs on your sound card. If you only need to record a couple of tracks at a time it should be OK.

Typically you'd plug your mic into a mixer channel, output the channel to one of the delta inputs (either direct out, or through the insert), route outputs 1 & 2 from the delta back to the monitoring (2-track in) inputs on the mixer, and then out from the mixer's Control Room outputs to your monitors

Here's how I do it:

Thanx. Very useful article that is!

Just one question: On the mixer, where do i put what cable to connect the Mackie HR824 monitors? The Mackies themselves have two options: XLR and jack.

So, in what hole on the mixer do i connect this XLR-cable / jack cable? I mean, what's this particular hole called? What output?

Exactly. Or Main Out or something similar.

Thanks for the comments.

I have succeeded.

Here's what I did:

* I put a 'male' cable (2x) on the output of my soundcard
* connect those to stereo L/R on my Soundcraft Compact 4
* then with my jack/jack-cables I connected Monitor L/R on the Soundcraft to the inputs of my Mackies.

It's great to hear the music come out of those Mackie Hr824s..
