Just upped it to 768 Megs PC800 OC to 456MHz (912 Effective). :D

I'm running 256 right now, would i really see a difference with 512? Thanks!

512 ddr pc2100, amd 1800xp, win98se, vst32 v5.1

28 tracks loaded with effects, never peaks over 70 percent on the performance bar. i have a gigabyte mobo ga7ve+ i think it is. Twin maxtor ata 133 40gig drives, one for audio files. matrox 450 dual head graphix, delta 1010 soundcard.

I keep hearing win98 doesn't utilise the 512 memory. 1 had a 256 stick in before and the system bailed out at 18 tracks. I'd upgrade to win xp but then i'd have to upgrade to cubase sx too.

this thing does everything i ask so far so am happy with it for now.

alec.

1gig (512X2)/DDR 333/PC2700 running on a P4 1.8ghz.

son of a

512 pc2700@333mhz amd xp 2500 o.c. 2.0ghz gonna get another 512 soon!! dont have any probs though, harddrive has a 8mb cache too whatever the hell that means!

off target for sure

why the hell does amd rate there processors faster than they are?????? xp 2500 is 1.8ghz stock cheap enough though

Sales trick. They say their 1,8Ghz performs like an intel 2,5Ghz so they call it the 2,5Ghz+ cpu, otherwise people think it's a slow cpu (compared to intel) ...

they say and the benchmarks say that there 1.8 ghz matches or surpasses an intel p4 2.5

it supposed to be due to amd's superior floating processing but i'm not computer engineer so i don't know...

640 heading towards 1gb once I get the energy to take my IMac 800 g4 flat panel into an authorized service center. The flat panel I-macs are extremely quiet, compact, and cool looking. Unfortunately, according to Apple, the full RAM upgrade (1gb) can only be done by a dealer. Oh well!

I'm runnin 512 of PC2700 at 333mhz on my Athlon 2100+ which is running at 2ghz...

However, I've got an upgrade on the way, in the form of 512mb PC3200 (400mhz) and a barton 2500+ which is supposed to be a superior processor by a pretty long shot...can't wait!

I currently have 256MB on a WIN98SE, but I have sticks for 512 on order. I use Adobe Auditiion [AKA Cool Edit Pro] and it needs more than 256. I understand WIN98SE doesn't like over 512MB. Guess there's an upgrade in my future.

i'm in the same boat as swede, 256.

the only time i get stuttering is when i preview an effect in CEP 1.2

oh yeah, and anytime i try to use ProTools!

1 gb ram, p4 3 Ghz, bus 800
i just got it a week ago since my last setup (pc, mics, instruments, etc) was stolen 3 months ago now i only have a generic dinamic microphone (20 dlr mic)

I wanna upgrade my ram, but not sure how much...

My Proccessor is an AMD Athlon 1.2.

I currently have 256MB and I can go as much as 768, but I had a computer guy tell me its not worth goin that high cuz the proccessor wont be able to take advantage of it anyway. Should I just go wit 512 or 640...?

The Computer

I said 256, I am expandable to 2 gig. I have a lot of work to do on the set-up. I just got the computer and soundcard last weekend. I have to experiment with the software some too. I hope I can understand it all by the 26th of February. That is the first day of a 4 day weekend for me and I wanna be able to spend most of those 4 days jamming, recording, writing, and just generally creating. Rock on!
