How much money do you have invested in your studio?

My personal equiptment come to $5304 including cables, stands, computer, screen, speakers, amp, microphones, and interface.

Though I have daily access to a studio equipted with just about $500,000 not including room treatment and actual building.

My car... Eh, what can I say, I like BMWs...

Don't you guys keep an inventory?

I built a spreadsheet that has the name of the gear, the date purchased, purchase price, and serial number. It also totals the purchase price so I keep a running tab on how much I've got in my current setup. Whenever I buy or sell gear I update the spreadsheet. Very handy thing to have.

Keep the receipts and serial numbers too. Because when tah band that you just recorded comes back very early on Sunday morning and empties your studio into their van, you will be glad that you can a). prove to the insurance company that you really had all that gear in your garage and b). if you ever get to seee the gear again, you can identfy it from the serial numbers.

Whilst you are doing this, check with your insurer that all the gear in the garage is actually covered under your house policy...

I dunno. What I do know is that I've spent more on dope, booze and cigarettes than on recording/musical equipment in my life, and that is probably not a good thing.

If I was to pull a number outa my hat, though, it would probably be in the neighbourhood of $7,000-$10,000 CAD.

ive finally become able to control myself and not spend money i dont have. everything ive bought was on a credit card, but then i just went and paid it later that day (helps the credit along)

my main problem comes with the money i make when i record...i can't help but take every cent of it and spend it on more and better gear
