WMP 10 and above can rip files to .mp3.

Not a dumb question at all. I use Free Rip. Easy to use and sounds good.

I also use the mp3 converter in Musicmatch Jukebox when converting wav files to mp3. Sounds good and never a problem.

MANY burning programs come with file converters. I use Easy CD DA extractor. It was cheap. I think Nero has a ripper. You would probably be best to do a search for a good freebie thaht has a couple of choices re MP3 quality (at least Near CD & CD quality).
Good ones will rip from CD to MP3 & convert files on your comp to & from wave/MP3 etc etc.

thanx ya 'all.....i would have taken this tread off, but not sure if i am allowed to do that....soo if there's a way to that let me know...

BTW...i figured it out on wmp....pretty easy...i don't know why i didn't think of that.....

jcm900 cleared it up for me

best bet for converting wav files to mp3 is "dbpoweramp", look it up on download.com
use the lame encoder. "alt-preset-standard" setting if you want a good compromise between quality and filesize.

Most mp3 upload sites limit the bandwidth to 128kbps, so you want to make sure before you rip it that the site you choose to download to will accept it.

This one will accept any size mp3...

You can do it easily with the iTunes, compatible with both PC and MAC. Free download from the Apple website. Just select the type of compression, then select the song you want to rip and... it's ready. Luck.
