How does this drum recording sound? I'm using a D112 on kick, SM58 on snare, and two SM57s as overheads (strange, I know.).
Does the overall recording need to be somewhat louder?
Thanks for any comments/suggestions.

Is that the secret to getting a ballsy snare tone?
PhilGood said:The kick sounds good! I don't think the 57s for overheads are working, though. Its just not crisp enough. It also sounds to me like a pretty live room, but the drums are on shag carpet. Would this be correct? If it is, you might improve the sounds by setting the snare stand on something hard and flat, so the bottom head gets refected back to the overheads. I would also recommend getting a couple condensers for the overheads,
Sounds like the kit is pretty well tuned. Good playing.
