Lol. Okay, so I'm supposed to call my local Nickelback/Alterbridge modern sterile rock radio station and say, "Hi, I'm some guy from the suburbs that records his own material that's nothing like your regular rotation. Can I come in for an interview"? :laughings: :laughings:

College radio ftw.

Here in norcal, send it to KDVS. They definitely will play yer stuff, bro.

I like the way you think.

The tunes are good.

If somebody sues you, it will be the best publicity EVAR.

Plus, you're not making any money on them, so it isn't like you are looking at damages.

So how's your new album been selling? Yall playing live any with the new bassist?

ahh this is the ultimate question.

tis the digital age and anything goes.

Have you thought about contacting an indy label and talk to them about free PR work.

A friend of mine 'claims' got him self set up with some kind of digital downlaod thing and and his buddys label sent the cards out with every purchase people made to said label. not necessicarily his stuff but whatever shit the lable was selling.

But basically in the real world i live in, unless i (or you) are willing to do leg work, spend money or go back to myspace and the likes..

its going to be some tough work.

Any radio stuff would probably have to be college radio. Everything else is owned by Clearchannel or similar isn't it? And you're not NPR affiliate material, unless you worked up an acoustic set.:D

Gerg - the one man band....coming soon to your area.

I do have an acoustic song on the album. It's called "Fuck You, We're From Texas".

We're selling about ten a month, more or less. Most of the traffic our website gets is from here.

We don't play shows, although I might set up an improv stoner rock thing just to get out and well... stone.

James is working out really well, he's a good songwriter and we're mostly just jamming and trying to get the feel right. He's got a different skill set than either Steve or I and so we'll see what shakes out.

The next album will most definitely be different. We've got three recorded so far, and they're pretty different from one another and from what we've released so far.

Cool. Yall gots skillz. If you really wanted to, I'm sure you could make some noise in the biz.

I understand your view on social networking from the point of view of an individual, with hundreds of "friends" they don't know or barely know. But in your case you've got something you're trying to sell, or at least promote? In my (admittedly limited) experience, people are much less likely to accept music from people they've never heard of. They might love a certain band, but play them an identical sounding band they've never heard of and they won't be interested. Yes this has a lot to do with general fanaticism and sex selling which i know you'll be very cynical about, you probably think you're outside of this as a "real" musician. +i'm sure you'll make it personal and ask why my band isn't touring the world with bon jovi.

What is the real question, are you asking how to promote your album, or how to promote your album ONLY to the non losers who don't use any form of social networking?

There is no more question. I already said I'm over it and not gonna bother.

Fair play sorry i shoulda read the entire thread.
