Hi everyone, I'm new to this board, so I'm sorry if my question is has an obvious solution I hadn't though of myself!

I record through a mixer (Behringer 8 channel) onto my PC with the free Audacity program. At the moment I only have two condenser mics - a Rode NT1-A and a Rode M3.

I can record both microphones at the same time without any troubles, but I can't seem to get more than two channels at once happening when I borrow other mics or just use my band's dynamic mics.

Is this probably because the sound-card in my computer won't allow more than two tracks? The mixer often has up to 6-8 mics going through it at once when we play live...so I figure it must be the computer.

Any thoughts??

Love the look of this forum...will be coming back for sure!

Thanks, Jack

Go to Audio I/O

Next to where it says 'Recording' you can choose to record 2 channels at the same time.

Well you do have to have the proper equipment to make it happen...what are you using for an interface?..If I have to guess it is a soundcard then 2 is the most you can do.
