You might try decreasing the attack on the bass compression but I'm guessing a little treble boost will work better. Around 800hz? Sweep around there and see if it clarifies the tone at all.

How's the width of the drums, by the way? It's a 4 mic setup so I've had to keep a fairly narrow stereo image to stop the hi-hat drifting off centre. I do prefer my toms and crashes panned further out though so I'm tempted to widen the overheads but might a wonky hi hat be a problem? I know it annoys me but what do other people think?
