So, I've known these guys for yeeeeearrrs. We were huge into this band back in 2006 and 2007 when we were like 16 years old in high school haha. We've parted a bit but reunited this summer for some partying and random gigs haha. I decided we should record out new song over the summer, as we haven't wrote in almost 4 years. The song itself is naturally really jammy and improvised, but thats how we've always been! I'm on drums btw.

I'm down for feedback! Thanks.

It sounds better on headphones than on my stereo system.

On the stereo the sound is flat, like no life and has little presence. The bass is panned off to the left side and it makes the overall balance off. The left side seems to have more RMS power. The guitars sound a little thin - too much eq carved out(bass too). Was this mixed on phones? In short, add presence, let more of the bottom through, open up the top end and rebalance.

Good song and performance.

Yes, mixed on headphones. Bass is in the center, bassier rhythm guitar on the left.

Sounds nice and raw and very live.
Very good performance, you guys are talented. Snare could sound a little less roomy and tighter, nice playing though. Nice tune!:)

Hey. I was working on the master track last night. I let more bass tones through overall. I also replaced some of the bass tones I cut out of the guitars in the eq. What do you mean open up the top end? I'm going to re-post the tune once I've fixed these things so you can let me know how its progressed. A perfect industry standard sounding mix isn't exactly what this band was going for, BUT, I'm trying to get as good as I can with my mixing so screw it haha. Thanks for the feedback.

Oh and ps, It is mastered, I'm using Ozone 4.0.

Bump? Haha. Really looking for that advice ^ before I try and take a second tackle at the mix.

Good job, man. How are the drums mic'ed, processed?

I liked the feel to the song. Great energy. Things sounded real good to my ear.

Everything was bone dry. A mix like this shouldn't be dripping in reverb. But just a hint of a small room or something similar I think would be an improvement.

I thought the bass was too loud in relation to the guitars.

sounds good

I really like this... I liked it enough to do a web search for you guys... ALOT better than the other stuff u had up on youtube (when you were like 16 and in high school!) You should make a video for this one and put it up on youtube!... Not like that one where you overdub your recording over your live show!! J/k!!!
