Gone
Someone mentioned this a while back and I thought it was a pretty good idea. Sorry, but I don't remember which thread it was in....I think 37point5 might have brought it up.
Anyway, it might be pretty fun to make a HomeRecording.com compilation CD. I know that I tend to lose mp3's or get rid of them to save space...and there are a lot of good tunes that I wouldn't mind hanging on to.
But for the most part it would just be for fun.
I've compiled a list of users who have posted music to the mixing clinic. It's pretty big, but I'm pretty sure that 60% of these guys (or gals) aren't active members of the BBS anymore so that should cut it down quite a bit.
If you think this would be a fun project, then please post in this thread that you are interested. Once I get a list of people who want to contribute, I'll need a song list from each person. From there we can vote on which songs to include (1 per person)...or you can just submit your favorite.

If there's enough interest I'll need volunteers for the following:
- One person with a DSL/Cable/T1..FAST internet connection and a CD burner.
- One person who would be interested in contributing some mastering time...nothing fancy. (Hell, just normalization would probably do it) Preferably one of the Pro guys like Ed or RecEng.
- An artist (visual).
- Someone else with a CD burner (and a lot of time) or access to a REAL CD stamper.
And of course a bit of cash from everyone. I couldn't imagine that it would cost more than $5-10 per person...it'll cost more in time than anything.
An interesting name will be needed. Maybe something like HomeRec'ers Volume 1. Whatever.
I think this idea has some potential...could even do an MP3 page for it and let MP3.COM burn the CD's from mp3's we think it's sellable. It'd be some extra adverstising none-the-less.
Lemme know.
