I've finished a tele I've been working on for quite some time. A few problems, one the neck route was off, angled upward, and the bridge was placed a quarter of an inch off. I originally used a bridge w/ the humbucker ring attached so had no choice where it went. Seemed to measure out ok to me, but it was confusing. So I had to have a local luthier fix these problems and that cost me some. The neck is maple w/ebony fretboard and paua shell inlays made by USA Custom Guitars. The luthier raved about it every time I talked to him. I have a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and JB4 in the bridge. A Varitone switch by Big D Guitars. Sounds great!! I'm really pleased with it, but a Light has said many times, building a guitar is not a way to save money. However, you can get what you want and some pride in what you did. One recommendation, but a body with bridge holes predrilled from a reputable company, I didn't and I regret that...but live and learn. Take a look at it...http://mysite.verizon.net/council61/
that colour is brilliant. really suits the grain of the wood.
I like the contours on the body, great bridge as well.
