i need expert advise on this program. just switching from cabase vst to cakewalk and not familiar with this program. i need help on how to record my guitar and vocals. i have emu soundcard also.. what do i do....

1) Install the program
2) Run it for the first time, and let it profile your soundcard
3) Create a new project.
4) Create a audio track
5) Set the input on the track to the input on your soundcard.
6) Arm the track
6) Press record.

The manual is pretty good explaining the basics (and it's not far from using Cubase, only Cakewalk-software is much easier to use ;)). :)

thanks... i'll try that..but if i have problems would it be because of the soundcard....i have a emu soundcard....

Well, EMU is not famous for making quality drivers. But if Cubase can handle it, then I'm sure HomeStudio can too. :)

Dunno. If my car won't run, would it be because of the carburetor?

so wat would be my carburetor then???
The point was that if you do have problems, it could be the sound card - or it could be at least a dozen other things: your computer system, the amount of memory, the sound card drivers, a conflict with a video card, speed and number of hard drives, and so on.
