What is everyone's view on it?
Im thinking of setting up my own home studio and i wanted to know what you guys and girls think about home studios and professional studios, pros and cons of each maybe??
cheers :)

The definition of a professional is a person that gets paid to do work in their chosen field. It's that simple when you take all the marketing and buzz word value out of "pro". If you are getting paid enough recording people's stuff to live off it you must be doing well enough that your products are viable. So if you are getting paid to do what you do, by reason, any studio you work in would be a "pro" studio.

The pro is you can record or play whenever you want.

The con is that home recording is an expensive hobby.

I did save some money building windscreens out of panty hose.

Depends on your needs. Sometimes its better to go to a major studio to record bigger things like drums and such or if you want access to nicer gear.
