Yo clinic peeps, I wanna bring back a game. They used to do this here a long time ago, and we did a few at A&A. A Recording Challenge. Not really a challenge as in a contest, but challenge as in you do something out of the ordinary of different. Or maybe simply recording anything is a challenge for you. This thread will make you fucking do it.....if you want. So, I'm throwing down the motherfucking gauntlet on Challenge #1. :D

Challenge #1 - Record a cover of another member's song.

It can be anyone's song, any way you want to do it. Search around, or scan your memory banks for someone's song that you like. No covers of covers. I really doubt that anyone in here is douchey enough to get stupid about copyrights with something potentially fun and harmless like this, but ask em first anyway just in case they wanna be toolbags about it. You can announce it to the world beforehand, or keep it secret until you post it. I don't care. Well give this like a month or whenever interest runs out....if there is any interest.

Post your submissions in this thread, or tell me to fuck off cuz this is a stupid idea. I'm cool either way.

Get to work. :)

Do you think we can get Silly Bee to do a bunch of covers of covers ? :D:D:D:D:D:D

Sound like great fun .... I always liked *Shit Eating Grin*

Great idea. I'm gonna cover all the lame-asses in the cave who don't record.

Okay, I'm done!!

Fuck off!

It has really become tiresome that you consider yourself the ultimate HR recording guru.

Question: Did your wife bring you to work with her on that "Bring A Spouse To Work Day"?

:laughings: :laughings: :laughings: :laughings: :laughings: :laughings:

Get lost, you pitiful, drunk, senile, lonely, non-musical geezer. :laughings:

This sounds great BUT I don't have the ear to pick out a song without chords & the like so I'll have to sit this one out!
I'll take a good chair and enjoy the noise & music though.
I COULD do I'M FROM TEXAS but I don't swear.

Hot damn, you're right. I don't think I've ever seen you type a foul word. Must be nice, because I'm foul enough for both of us. :o

You could do that song though, and just change the words to something that suits you. I don't care.

I don't know if I'll have time to do participate in this for a while because I just joined 2 new cover bands, so I'm learning a bunch of songs. But it's a great idea.

Can't wait to hear Greg do the tune he wants to do of mine.

It's a pretty simple tune, Greg. So I'm sure you'll have no problem figuring it out and putting your own spin on t. But if you need the chords or the lyrics, let me know.

That's a pretty cool idea! I'll have to search around and see if I can find something.

Now that's a fun idea! I'll have to see who I'd like to cover though...plenty of stuff here that I like.

Hmmm sounds pretty cool. I think I'll give it a go. Too bad my vocal range is about as big as my foot. :(

I would like to do some Dewhitt stuff, or maybe Heatmiser. Po'Tensity has some pretty good stuff.... My drum sounds aren't as good as Rami's or Greg's so that excludes them. I'll look around in the clinic. :D

Remember, this doesn't have to be a stock note-for-note perfect reproduction of someone else's song, unless you want to do it that way. Get creative with it if you want to. Keep the hook and melody though so it's recognizable.

I might do a gin-soaked acoustic version of a Lambo or wheelema tune... or maybe one of 60's guy's or or or or... oh yeah.. Chilli, I see your problem!

Who won the the first comp? Heatmiser? Perhaps I'll tackle that one... is there a time limit? I'm a busy guy....

I love this idea...unfortunately, I'm probably going to have to sit this round out, because I've already bitten off more than I can chew for the next month or two, but I'll be looking forward to hearing the results. Squibble, let me know if you really want to do one of my tunes, I'd be happy to assist in whatever way you need!

Best,

Dave
