Thanks man, I hear ya and appreciate it. I'm hoping to reel it in a bit with some more practise.

Nice song.......I'm in a disagreeing mood apparently 'cause i don't feel the harmonies are that much too loud. CS&N never mixed their parts as a lead and two backgrounds. They always mixed their stuff as three equally loud lead voices....that's a big part of their sound and that's how this sounds. Yes....there are flaws....and the guitar is out of tune.........but that doesn't get in the way of enjoying this very nice song and arrangement.

I look forward to hearing a bigger production and I'm gonna look for that third part. If I find it. ...I'll let you know. :)

Home... that guitar :D (I'm picturing a uke, almost :D)

Fingerpickin'. Nice... for a shredder :D ;) Good harmonies... has
a Zeppelin (unplugged) flavor to it. Vocals seem to need a warmer/less
harsh mic on 'em... they sound a little digital and brittle around
the edges. Cool performance/song. An original? Another vote for "full production"

Cool man, thanks. I did notice when listening on phones that the hgiher pitched backup is louder than the other. So bringing that down a bit may find the spot. I definately was going for loud vox.

Ya, it's mine. One of those 75% done tunes from 75 years ago. I had half a mind to do something ambitious like redo one of those old standards that seem to be public domain, but I wanted to wrap something up in less than a year.

Guitar is a Harmony Stella somethig like the ones pictured here

I did "some" limiting on the vocals. The mixdown had some serious spikes in it. I don't have a real compressor in my mic chains so...

Thanks for the comments.

Your gettin emotional and thats cool, it shows in the singing. Lotsa energy, I liked it. I sound like Kaptain Kangaroo singing with Mr Green Jeans. :)

Doug - man, you're gonna hate me for this post, but I thought this was very weak. Everything from the recording quality, to the guitar tone, to the harmonies - which had major intonation problems.

I looked for something good to say, and what I came up with is that the song itself is pretty decent.

I will also say the recording has a very much "played live in your living room quality" - which can be either good or bad, depending on what you are going for here.

I am really sorry I couldn't be more positive. This just didn't do it for me.

That's cool, call it like ya see it. Most of what you've said has been at least been touched on in one post or another.

I'm not sure if the living room sound was what I was after. I just mixed it how I thought it should be. I didn't want it to sound like it was being performed in a church or anything.

Glad you thought the song was ok, thanks for giving it a listen.
