I built one of these in 1980 for about $20.00. I got rid of it years ago for almost nothing. If this sells at the asking price I'm going to shoot myself (in the foot [but I'll take my foot out of my shoe first and just shoot the shoe, then put my foot back in.]) Still, I'm making a statement.

By the way, the Leslie simulator in the Alesis Midiverb 4 sounds much better than this or anything I've heard, except the Leslie speaker system I used to have.

Never throw anything away, especially the cheap, crapy stuff, which will be worth the most down the road.

Did I ever tell ya about the time (pre eBay days) I threw away an Electro Harmonix vocoder because I didn't feel like taking it out of the old wood rack I was tossing? There's a bullet hole in my St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap over that one. :)

I assume you've checked the other items from that seller too :)
ehhhhhh,

yep, that's what it is or so.
One can still build one for about twenty bucks. But then it will be just that - a twenty bucks box.
The "price" what an item goes on eBay for depends on ghosts in an item ;) , which is not a bad thing, imo :p
EH vocoder sure would make a one full-o'-ghosts item.

Also, I would not sell it, if I had one :)

ehhhhhh,

No, I closed my eyes after seeing the PAIA... ;)

A couple years after I threw away my EH vocoder I saw one go for $385.00... something like that on eBay.

There are really two bullet holes in my St. Louis Cardinals cap; one was already there from when they lost the World Series to the Minnesota Twins in 1987. :)

I closed my eyes ... :)
well, then you don't see what'cha missin' - http://cgi.ebay.com/RA-Moog-351-Theremin_W0QQitemZ280188121388, that is a "stunningly stinky box of ghosts", and it does not cost as much as the rusty bumber off your fighter jet ..heh heh :D:D:D, and it comes from a "trusty" company of successful entrepreneurs, named, no other and no less than ???! - ANALOG! U.S.! Inc! .
...(and what a Mighty Name, that is! ... :D)

Opportunities, man, opportunities!
don't miss yours,

lol

Yeah, those are ridiculous prices. An SH-2 runs about $500 and you can get it "cleaned and calibrated" for $100

:D I recall sitting in my apartment in downtown Minneapolis and watching the games on the tube and listening as the cars drove past my place after the final win. It was indeed a great day. :D No Twins caps were harmed in the process of cheering on the home team.

I don't think I ever threw away anything of any great value, except maybe my baseball card collection as a kid. But then, I don't think I threw that away, I believe that was the fault of my mother, whom I have never forgiven. :D

THis is just pathetic...

WTF? If you rub it will a Genie pop up and grant you wishes?
I bet this will be over $400 by the end. Think about what good useful gear you can get for that kind of cash... :D

I once owned a Realistic MG-1 which is affectionately known as the Radio Shack Moog. It was given to me for free because at the time the owner couldn't imagine anybody wanting to pay for it. Now this synth goes for over $500 on Ebay.

I sold a ring modulation unit (don't recall the brand) on ebay over 7 years ago- some guy in Japan paid me $260 for it. I scored it at a garage sale- it and a speaker cab with 2 12's cost me all of $15. Sold the cab for $100...

Only if you are a collector? If I did have a choice over a new digital or a new analog synth I probably would go for the analog or just settle whith the computer which is digital anyway. These digital synth's are just playback machines in a very nice stylish box? Im sure they could make something analog for the same price?:D

Hey, sorry for digging up an old thread but I'm just wondering if you remember what it sold for at ebay? I recently got my hands on 1 of these. A Paia synthespin mkII that is. Just wondering what it might be worth.
