hmmm strange

just got my new mic and phantom power box. the mic only gets powered when i use the leads one way round, if i swap the lead around it doesnt work. when i have the crappiest one connect from the mic to the box it doesnt work. are some leads none phantom power?????

I'm not sure I understand the question...XLR mic cables have a male and female end. Typically, the female end connects to the mic and the male end connects to the preamp/phantom supply. Physically, you shouldn't be able to reverse the direction of the cable, as it would not fit.

Some XLR cables may be wired differently, either to defeat phantom power, or to run in reverse for other applications.
