ok so i just like to rap vocals over an instrumental i find online or whatver, so what would a good cost saving home studio to do this? i currently have a samsung meteor mic, pop filter, mic stand, and sony mdr-xb500 headphones, with magic music maker 17 which i do not like. but suggestions would be great. thanks.

Since you are budget conscious i would suggest a Windows based computer with Reaper. And maybe invest in a decent compressor. Since all of the track is already there minus your vox you won't need a monster processor of a computer, but i warn you most likely once you get into this recording thing you will add more gear and branch out further. But for your setup i would just get a compressor, and Reaper. From what i understand the software is free.
