hi im a newbie on this site ive got a tascam dp02 and am currently looking into buying a drum machine the one im thinking of is the boss/roland dr 880 ive tried researching but cant seem to find out how you connect it for recording i understand the midi connection and that you cant record through it but am still confused as to which connection to use any reply would be apreaciated

It's actually pretty simple. There should be some 1/4" outputs on the DR880. Connect a pair of 1/4" patch cables from the DR880 to the 1/4" inputs of the DP-02. Make sure the proper tracks on the DP02 are selected and armed. Adjust your levels, and record!

sweet thanks for replying that makes sense now ,have you had any experiance withe the dr 880 i was also looking at the alesis sr 18 but decided on the dr880 as the sounds sound a lot more realistic

Sorry for the delay in responding. I haven't used an 880, although I used to really want one. I think I had the 550 (I know it was 5-something) and it was okay. They still make the 880 after almost 20 years, so it can't be that bad.
