I use Cakewalk 9...haven't touched it in ages...I have a VS880EX sitting next to my bed...I record something, listen to it, decide it sounds like shit and erase it...if it ever sounded okay I might shoot it into Cakewalk via the optical connections. I also have Sonar2XL or whatever it's called. It looks like I would have to take the time to familiarize myself with it before I used it...that would be just awful!!!

Gadgetlabs Wave 824 w/spdif daughtercard. I could never get a clean digital copy with that daughtercard, so I got a Delta Dio just for optical copies. Anyone want a daughtercard? It cost me $150 fucking dollars. The gadgetlabs card sounds good to me. What do you use?James Argo said:

OK, went to the shop...couldn't help myself and bought a Delta 66 Omnistudio (hey, what could be wrong with a $500 card? ). Went home, unpacked it, read the manual, didn't understand any of it. Decided bring it back and to quit searching for a soundcard. It's either too professional or too amateur. I haven't found anyone who really understands what I'm looking for...
So I bought myself a new (jazz)guitar. Zero ms latency , no digital outputs, no extra expenses, no difficult manuals....I unpacked it and it worked....immediately!

It's lovely. Not comparable with a real quality Guild or something like that, but as an 'extra' it's great.
Took me an hour to adjust it (intonation, truss rod) but after that it's fine. Together with my Pod the results are amazing.
I'll record Spijt again with this baby!
