There's a lot on my list, and SONAR comes last.

1. gifts for my wife
2. acoustic guitar
3. gifts for my wife
4. wah pedal (I'm not going to buy a friggin' floorboard á 250 euros for my pod just for a wah, better buy myself a 99 euro Dunlop wah)
5. gifts for my wife
6. Terratec soundcard (or other card that can make me forget my Audigy)
7. midi breakout box (one midi out/in is not enough for me)
8. USB PCI card (I'm running out of USB connections)
9. quiet harddisks
10. gifts for my wife

239. SONAR

Got myself a wah pedal...

Tomorrow I'll order the Terratec :)

Cool... I'm starting to work on my re work of 'Feelings Don't Just Disappear'... got the Bass in my hands at the moment and playing it with SlicyDrummer (part of Sonar XL)... trying to get a groove happening.

Now I'm just saving up for a digital mixer, and I'm all set...

Set for what? Professional sound? LOL

Have you read the latest mp3 clinic threads?

Okay... Here we go:

"Now I'm just saving up for a digital mixer, and I'm happy..."

Better?

No, I haven' t read the threads. Are they fun? :D
Post me a link!

Ironically, most of the times I only try to tell people that making and recording music is FUN...so get rid of frustations, principles, ambitions and other annoying feelings. HAVE FUN! :D

Sonusman is very good at recoring, but it seems that sometimes he's not aware that he is on a HomeRecording-BBS. Remember the "Calling all masters of the digital domain"-thread? I know I'm right when I'm saying that it demands less to sample a 20 Hz sinus-wave than a 20 kHz sinus-wave.

But he came back hitting me on the head: "McFly, it's 2019"! And we were basically discussing two different things....

Hahaha, I had no idea what you guys were talking about in that thread. :D

I don't doubt Sonusman is a kickass producer/engineer. I've heard music recorded by him. Truly excellent sound. If I could achieve that in my little studio I wouldn't be an application manager testing new applications for a pretty large firm in holland. I would be an amazing producer at Wisseloord studios! :D

Besides the fact he's a professional and we aren't: he posts music which is composed and played by others, it's only recorded by him (and possibly others). It's not a fair comparison with our solostuff, IMO. Let him write a tune, play all instruments and we'll discuss the whole package. Compostion, arrangement and recording. We'll love the recording, I'm sure of that. But as for the rest?

Hey, how do you make your money Moskus? Just curious...

I'm a civil engineer, specialised in acoustics (you know, sound concert halls & studios, noise from highways, industry noise, etc etc, anything to do with sounds in constructions). Well, actually I'm not yet qualified to work on my own... I still need some guidance, for the next two years... :(

:D

Aha! Thanks!

One final question about soundcards. I play my drum & keyboard parts on my midikeyboard with little or no quantisation, to keep it human. When I switch to the Terratec I'll have to use Livesynthpro and I'm guessing I will have to deal with a little latency. It also means I'm playing offbeat, about 10ms (which would be good if I were making a d'Angelo style of music). Can I still use my SBlive for soundfont-related recording matters? And switch to Terratec and Livesynthpro when I mix down?

Does the Terratec work well in conjunction with the live? Do they 'get along'?

Well, I don't have a SB Audigy/Live in my machine, as I've told you guys before all (well, most) of my computer problems went away when I ripped it out.

Without the SB I could push the latency low enought (under 5 ms) to use Livesynth to directly program my drums. :)

There you go... ;)

Now, smash that Audigy with a hammer! :D

OK, so we know what each other do... I work in IT for one of the worlds 'Big 4' accounting firms doing End User Support.

Just out of curiosity... how old are we?

I'm 23...
