That's why ACE Ftp is the best! No problems like the one you mentioned.
If you're still planning to come over to Perth in February, bring an Oxy-torch and a hammer. You might be able to fix it for me. :)

Hey ! Whats going on here? Ive been plagued with work to the point I couldn't even find time to check in :( . I got my sonar three about a month ago and I dont think Ive spent two hours in It. Hows the mix coming? If I get the time Ill download it again to see where we are at. I know I can do a better guitar part than I submitted before , but I dont know if I can find any time. Id also like to try the korg doing the sax part but thats even a more remote possibility.
I thought I was supposed to be on easy street by this age, but once again I was dissillusioned.

See Y'all later

Bill

Ha! Easy Street. It's not even in my map book. :)

What kind of work is it, Bill, that keeps you from your music? You must work a lot of weekends to have so little free-time.

I have to drive an hour to get to work, and if I'm delivering to freight yards on my way home, it could be an hour and a half until I get home.

But at least my weekends are my own (with Mrs BluesMeister's kind permission...)

The two case fans in my PC were a bit noisy, so yesterday I installed two Thermaltake fans. It was a bit fiddly and took me around an hour to complete the task.

Boy oh boy.

The Thermaltakes are noisey. Did I say NOISEY? I meant NOISEY!

I have a work around for the dial-up problem. I've set my IE to Never Dial A Connection and dragged the Dial Up icon onto my desk top. So now I must click on the DU icon then IE (or OE) icon to surf and/or check my e-mail. Tedious to the max, but no more unwanted dial up.

I spent nearly all of Sunday tidying up one of my MIDI files then recording guitar overdubs for a tune called Happy Haven.

If I can work out how to do it, I'll post it to NWR so you can check out my first recorded self-composition.

Bill, you must have missed it. We've drafted Lt. Bob to do the sax part. Currently waiting on his submission, so nothing much else is happening right now.

I'm not sure about not much happening. I cured the noisey fan problemette in my PC, recorded one of my tunes and I wrote a Dyad tutorial.

The Thermaltake fans come with all sorts of gadgets. I attached the rheostats that came with the fans and turned the speed down to minimum. Ah, such peaceful quietness in the BluesMeister household... Previously the fans had been running flat-chat at around 5000 rpm, now they're at approx 1400rpm humming quietr than something that hums quietly. :)

I need to upload my tune Happy Haven to NWR for you guys and guyettes to lend an ear to. I hope to do that before the week is at an end.

The Dyad tutorial details how to load a drum SoundFont and use a drum map in conjunction with the SF. This will apply mainly to HS2004XL users, although ther may some folks who have purchased Dyad outright who would doubltless benefit.

Do you want it posted here (and/or somewhere else) or in the CW FAQ's at Moskus's web page?

PM me if you want it "elsewhere". ;)

bluesmiester, Nowheres good for me, its sooo easy :)

Easystreet.. exit here. The years after 45 where one has achieved financial security and wisdom which allow one to savor and appreciate the finer things in life at a pleasant pace...
Yeah Right.. I must have missed that exit on the expressway!!!

In the future Im going to turn my pc completely off for a whole week. Or maybe for 5 days.. or maybe for 3.
Yup, I work on computer equipment too. (computer operated equipment the size of some homes) they tell me Im an electronic technician but somedays I wonder about that...Sometimes I just get sick of it. BUt it pays for my toyish lifestyle. Hopefully the month coming up will give me some time, but we are heading into our peak season at work.

BTW I put my recording PC in a cabinet and thats cut most of the fan noise out. It doesnt get any hotter when I close the door because the backside has Lots of ventilation. generally I keep the door open except when recording something. Now the HVAC noise on the other hand, is a real pain.

dachay: Yup ive been missing some of the postingas stated above. Skimmed through it a bit...
Im sure Lt Bob will do a much better job than I ever could anyway.

Peace
Bill

You'd better talk me through it step by step then Bill, because I couldn't find the Add An Artist button like it says in the FAQs. You can e-mail me or PM me to save the public humiliation. :) Oops. Too late for that...

I spend most of my working day staring at a PC. My job requires me to use AutoCAD to draw up pump components. Fortunately I'm not on call at the weekends.

My tune Happy Haven is a raw Primary Mix*. In truth it's the first time I've recorded anything that I've written alongside MIDI tracks. It's something I've been dreaming of for years but only recently had the software & hardware to achieve this. So I started with a fairly simple tune. I'm not really sure what genre it falls into. Probably Destined For The Recycle Bin.

*Primary Mix = no effects, no compressor, no expander, just raw MP3 conversion.

Oh yes, Moskus my good Norwegian buddy, how do I get HS to default to CWEnc rather than that lame bit of time-out-in-30-days MP3 encoder they've provided me with? Does it require a fiddle with the registry?

Did you register as a user first?, like I did :) without artist rights???.. If so you cant register as an artist unless you contact waldo. he fixed mine for me. its been a few years though so I dont recall exactly what he did ,, I think he just nixed my user account which allowed me to reregister to get an artist account.

Peace
Bill

You got it in one, Bill! ;)

I'm a registered user, not a registered Artist. I'll e-mail The Great Waldo Pepper to see if he can fix the situation or if I need to re-register.

Sheesh, I hope I get some really positive reviews after all this palaver. :)

No, forget the reviews, just send money... :D

Revenge Is Sweet - Now It's YOUR Turn

OK good folkies,

If you'd care to wander over to the MP3 Clinic, I've posted a link to my first recorded composition Happy Haven.

The main riff came to me one evening whilst noodling on my electric guitar. I immediately recorded it to MiniDisc then set about polishing it (the riff, not the MiniDisc). The bridge passage was from an enterly different idea, but it fits in quite well I think.

The MIDI piano chords will be replaced with real guitar some day! I trust you'll let me know how best to knock it into shape. :)
