Got to check out that reggae zeppelin tune. HEHE...I was laughing all the way through it. But yeah the guitar sounded darn good in there. I'll have to experiment with backing the mics off a bit. I've been close micing. I'll have to bury my computer in the closet before I do that though. Otherwise at 2 ft you'll hear just as much fan noise as guitar![]()
Jagular, glad you liked that tone. Sometimes Im not too sure if what I am hearing is what most others hear.
If you still cant get the tone you want, I'd recommend picking up one of those Roland MMp-2 mic modelers off brand new off ebay. ( about $130) Hey, if you dont like it you can always go and resell it for what you payed for it or close to it. I still think its the best thing since sliced bread for improving mic sound and compensating for room acoustics.
I dont know if you picked up on any of this stuff I posted about the roland mmp-2 before but its got compression /expansion and eq built in as well as a variety of pretty good, high quality, preamp emulation settings as well as the mic modeling feature , it also has compensation for mic distance which can warm up tone quite a bit, a whole bunch of presets, which are ballpark, for various types of vocals and all kinds of instruments from sax to violin so its a real bargain for a budget home studio.
Keep us posted when you get a great tone out of that Martin in the bit sack.

Peace
Bill
