Did you get the file I sent you back of the 128 kps MP3 that you wanted me to make louder?

I'm posting this here because your PM's don't seem to be working any more. They were working fine while you were asking me for a favor, but seem to have stopped working as soon as I sent you the file of the 128kps MP3 you wanted me to make louder.

So, if you did get it, a little acknowledgement would be nice. I'm not even asking for a thank you at this point. I just want to know if you recieved the file of the 128kps MP3 you wanted me to make louder.

A little gratitude never hurt anyone. I got better things to do than throw someone's shitty song into my software and throw a limiter on it.

That's the last time I do anyone a favor. I'm now more cynical, bitter, hurt, and I feel more used than ever before...or whatever. :D :D :D
 
Strange co-incidence. I just got a message from him, saying "sorry man thanks I didn't realize I didn't reply".

sorry man I thought I replied..I really like what you did you made it louder and it sounds cleaner then mine..what exactly did you do

really..you must have the magic touch..I like it..I use the kjaerhus classic limiter and it is quite obvious that I suck cause I can't get my track as loud as you do.but you have more expericne then me..it is probably really simple to do..I am proabably just making it out to be the big hard thing

All I did was put it through a WAVES L3 and got it to average about -12db. That's really all I did. :)

so be honest is it me or the free limiter that I am using..is it crap or am I crap...lol so to speak
 
Considering I didn't do much, I don't think it's you. I'm not familiar with the limiter you used, but maybe it "pumps" too much, or is not as transparent. I really don't know. Others that are familiar with it can answer that question better than I can.

It could be that you tried to get it too loud and that causes the mix to start falling apart. I know that even at the volume I managed to get it to, it was starting to fall apart. One smidgeon louder and it started to sound like shit. So, moderation is the key.

Having said that, I really like the L3. So it might just be a great limiter. It's the only thing I did to it, so it's not a matter of me knowing what I'm doing any more than you.

alright I am going to try and find a demo of the l3 and see if it works better for me..thanks Rami!!!
 
Don't forget also...You sent me a low quality MP3. If you have the original wave file, you should be able to do a hell of a lot better with it.
 
You appear to be on a roll today, RAMI...

Can you make my 96k MP3 louder too? :D
