Go ahead, although it's not really going to piss us off as light and myself we're debating their cool factor rather than their guitar playing.;) I also think the whole Johnson thing has to do with the capturing of the historical context as much as his ability or merit as a songwriter or musician. It could just as easily have been someone else who went down in musical folk lore if they'd found themselves in the same situation. Dyeing young and being at the peek of your exposure at the time certainly helps in promoting your image and mystic though. Many have achieved that much.

* Note that I dissed Johnson as a singer, not a guitarist, thus staying within the rules of the thread ;)
 
maybe he's not famous but the guitar player/singer from those free credit report .com commercials has really been annoying me as of late.maybe it's cause he first showed up with the pirate hat on but those awful little jingles keep getting stuck in my head.

He did his best stuff on the early lift/elevator recordings. After his pron stuff he just kind of lost it.

If I have to only pick one it would be Neil Young. That guy makes every top 100 guitarist list and cant play his way out of a wet paper bag. What a joke!

Aw, come on! I never tire of seeing him crack a guy's arm in half by bending the elbow backwards over his shoulder, or the 'snap-a-neck' move, or the dozens of others.

Then again, haven't seen one of those movies since I was a teenager...

Ha, no I actually quite enjoy deciphering some of your more technical posts, I learn alot! What do you teach? I'm starting my major in music technology next year is why I'm asking.

Musical acoustics one semester a year. I do it because I had to when I was doing my Masters and still do because it gets me out of the workshop one day a week for a few months a year. I enjoy it.

That's pretty cool man. Hopefully that will be part of my curriculum, though I haven't seen or heard of it yet.

If your doing music tech or music instrument tech it will almost certainly be a core module or requirement. It's the foundation for so much of the wider subject.
