The intro was killing me... a few parts felt out of tune... although it could just be the chorusy effect with the note choices. Very Master of Puppets/Battery-ish.
Yeah, I noticed that afterwards. I tend to mimic other bands subconciously somehow. I guess it's the influence. I'm starting to think the acoustic intro part should be ditched, because it sounds a bit too cheesy, or at least badly played.
Drums are good and tight, mixed nicely in the mix, although I would have liked a little more energy and playing to them... but then you run into the trouble of it sounding drum-machiney, which these don't.
I know. The problems usually is, that the more I make the drums upfront, the more easily you can tell it ain't a real drummer
The leads didn't seem to jump out of the mix much, sounded buried. I liked the playing on them, they were nice and memorable, rather than notes for notes sake, it would have been nice to hear them more out front a little though.
I tend to bury the solos, since I'm very insecure about my playing in that area. I need lots of practice. I try to come up with something personal, but in some songs it's really hard to write anything fitting there.
All in all, I liked it alot, although it came across more like a karoake track, instead of a pure instrumental. But mix and recording wise it was great!
Ok, I can definately understand it sounds a bit like a karaoke song

. Some parts sound indeed, that the need some singing in them. I agree. I just haven't written any lyrics ever, nor have I sung. I also don't have a good mic. Just a microphone, that came with the soundcard (which is terrible). And another problem in the vocal area is, that the room I record in, is also the room my little brother plays his computer all the time. It's kinda hard trying to sing, when you hear laughter

. Not that I can sing, anyway.
