Great sound! You pick very well my man! I think the drum machine works on this song and maybe could even be brought up in the mix.

thanks Scott, I've been working on the percussion stuff, and I too think it adds to the mix.

Hey D,
...great tune man! I agree w/ Scott re: the percussion. I like it... ....it sits in there nicely. The acoustics sound great. The only nit i might have is the same one i always have w/ your stuff. I think just a little compression might sit the "wild hairys" back a little on your vocs. ....even em out just a touch. You might not even have to mess w/ the levels. ...just a thought:)

Great Stuff Dan!

Hey Dan - Did you sell a bunch of ".com" stock around December of '99 like me so that you're independently wealthy and can just record tunes all day and play golf? Dude, I freakin' LOVE THAT MARKET!!!

:D
:D
:D

In case it was a serious question, to bold stuff, you just put this in front of and after it:

but on the one after it, you have to put a "/" in front of the "b". Lol...it's hard to describe without doing it, but if I do it, you won't see it...you'll just see that all of this is in bold.

Same thing for italics, but it's an "i" instead of a "b"

or, you could just

hit the "quote

button

to see how I did this

lmao

g., about that compression. Should it be used when tracking or after the fact? One prob. might be vocals and one guitar tracking together. Have to try some of this.

chris, it was '99, but mine came from huge profit sharing from my 25 years at Lowe's Co. Good timing with their plan and with the market. And no, not independently wealthy, but it came out to be more monthly income than I was making while working. That's why I work 8-9 months at the golf course cutting grass, about an average of 25-30 hours a week, and usually one day each week-end. Got to have gear, beer, and golf money. he he he he he he. But what I really like about this work is I can start around 5-6 am. and be finished by 12-2 pm. depending on the day and what's up with golf tourneys. Then there's still time to golf, play music, record, drink, or whatever. And it's a no-brainer job. Just jump on a mower of some kind, cut some grass, dig a ditch, fill it up, rake a sand trap, change pin locations, watch folks play golf, and really enjoy the early morning air, when no one is around. And,

I CAN GET HIGH ON THE JOB shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell.

uh huh...we've heard that before.

I wait, and I wait, and I wait...but no review of the "Fuck You" song. Why do you hate me MISTERQCUE? Is it my boyish good looks?

(I'm totally kidding, so please don't drag that thread back. Posting the pics was plenty :D :D

that's mighty perty. kinda CSN sounding. vocals are a little more up front and dry than i prefer. feels like i'm hearing this with you and your twin brother in my living room. nice performance and song overall.

Hey dtb, nice tune first off. I didn't read all the responses but I just wanted to say, I don't know if you've changed the panning but I like it the way it sounds right now. I love the contrast between the verses and choruses. I do agree that some syllables get kinda weak or clouded as well as a bit flat toward the end of a couple notes. But the some overall sounds great. I wouldn't change the bass sound for anything, it's very uh...hip. I personally would like to hear the drum machine or sample loop replaced with some mellow drumming and live played rythym.

Clean sound...thanks for the offering to my mp3 collection.

97, and jake, thanks fellows. I'm learning more about the percussion. Would love to do some live stuff with percussion. And singging, shit man, I just learned how to talk recently. he he he
'02 is the year of me learning to sing with my music, and I've been playing for 30 years. Thanks for the listen.

I missed this one!
Man,some Really fine guitar playing!
Sounds great, did you record it with the 67's?

I dug the writing, great theme and message.

The vocals are the highlight,as always.
I liked the double/panning,sounds good with the acoustic.
Your voice always reminds me of Burl Ives, and Doc Watson, but better! :D

Great song,thanks for sharing it!

Pete

Great song. Really nice acoustic playing. The percussion sounds fine to me. It might be more effective if you brought it in and out of the mix.

I like the vocals panned, but I agree with JR#97 that they might be too up front.

dicombobulation/constipation rhyme might have been "pushing" it :D

Pete, thanks, man, and yes, v67--blue tube--788 for everything. Thanks for comp. and the listen. Glad you enjoyed this tune.

fprod, this tune developed from a phrase that a friend came up with. He said I should use it in a song, so I did. Mostly for him, but it turned out sounding so good I posted it. It is a little push with that line, but shit, he likes it. At least now I know how to spell discombobulation. he he he he

thanks for the listen,

dtb

I actually did like that rhyme. I just couldn't let you get away with it. Your friend should be proud.:D I can't spell the word because I can honestly say I've never typed it before.

Good work.

hey dude, I just listened to your tune. Go there. Oh, and it was fun trying to get that word in the tune. he he he he, hey I used a word with more than 6 letters. he he he he
