what's a decent soundcard that i could get to increase the track capabilities of my system? i have an mbox, and i'm looking to have the capability for approximately 4-6 more tracks.

what will i need... a preamp and another soundcard? or does pro tools not work with outside equipment?

The M-box software (Pro Tools LE) does not work with other hardware, sorry :o . you can only get two analog tracks and one digital. you can use a mixer and sub-mix the other 4-6 tracks but it will still only have a 2 track input into Pro Tools..... If you would have gotten the M-Powered Pro Tools then you could have gotten a Delta 66 or a 1010 for the seperate tracks that you are looking for... Hope that helps

haha digidesign at its best....

if you desperately need more tracks and you want to stick with pro tools / digidesign stuff, you could try to sell your mbox and pick up a delta 1010 or 1010LT. The next step up is probably the digi002 rack and that is quite a bit more pricy.

i thought

hmm i thought that to have a maudio interface be compatible with protools you had to have the 350 maudio pro tools software thats made to work with certain maudio products ...but thats just what i was told i dont think the maudio -prottols stuff will work with the mbox software..

Thats exactly what I said in my previous post... He has to get the M-powered Pro Tool software to run with M-Audio hardware

Sorry to be picky, but the Mbox is 2 analog OR 2 digital. Point still valid though, the man needs more inputs.

actually carter, you're incorrect. you only can choose between analog OR digital when recording. take a look at the mbox manual on the digi site. and the digital is two channels
