Get That Pay

Alright, So I've done alot of recording through cool edit with a very cheap process. I recently obtained a Dynamic Nady sp-5 mic, it's some cheap mic, but better than what I had before. I went to sam ash spoke with a guy there on how to hook it up to the back of my computer because the pkugs have the size difference ofcourse. He got me some cable and an adapter that lets me plug it right into the internal computer sound card. But the mic does not record. No sound is picked up on it. Am i missing a crucial element of getting the mic to work, some extra hardware. Or is it something else I just need to tinker with on the computer.

If you are on a PC, go into the Control Panel under Sound and Audio Devices. Click the Advanced tab on the volume page and make sure the volume is up on the input you are using and that the input is not muted. Also, under the Audio tab, make sure your soundcard is enabled for sound recording purposes. If that does not work, you'll need to check your cool edit settings to make sure the soundcard is configured properly and is recognizing the correct input.

It's not that I've gone through that, But in the sound recording perferred device I got three options Sb live! wave in[ECEO], Game compatable device, and Voice modem wav #00 line. There is nothing else I can select. Does this sound like a problem?
