Afternoon

I was wondering if you guys may be able to help me. I've just recently acquired an art tube pre-amp which sounds lovely btw.

Anyway after reading through some of the manual it says it's great to use it to put final mixes through etc. and i'd be really interested in trying that out.

However, I'm at a bit of a loss on how you would patch this thing in to the desk as it has 1 Jack & XLR input and 1 Jack and XLR output. It's only one channel so how could I patch a stereo mix through it and still be left with a stereo mix at the end?

My mind has gone a blank on this - must have been the beer and late gig last night!!

You can't unless you want mono. Get another one & make stereo!

Why would you want to? A pre-amp's job is to make very weak signals get louder. The intention is to bring the signal up to a usable level so the rest of the system can make efficient use of it.

Is your final mix so weak that it is un-usable?
