I am trying to get my Yamaha PSR 225 working. I bought a Yamaha UX-16 usb midi interface. I installed all the drivers, but nothing is working. In reason I have the input and output set to the Yamaha interface, but I am not hearing anything. I guess I am not even sure what options I need to choose in order to hear what I play on the keyboard. Could someone offer some guidance?
Does Reason give you any indication that it is or is not receiving the MIDI data from the keyboard? If it is receiving data, do you have that data routed to anything that generates sound? (like a softsynth, or back out to the PSR 225, for examples). Is the sound generator connected to something that you can hear (headphones or speakers)?
No, I see no indication that it is receiving data. I have the midi directly into the interface and on Reason, the input is selected to the midi adapter. The out cable is ran back to the psr 225. No, the psr225 is not connected to headphones or speakers (other than the speakers that are built on the keyboard). I was hoping to be able to hear what was being played on/through the midi device on my computer. Do I have the wrong idea? I am also needing to use this on BIAB and N-track. I just happened to have reason open and thought I would start with it. Are there some kind of settings I need to adjust in the programs or on the keyboard? I am new to midi, so please forgive the ignorant questions.
