I started playing around with my Yamaha DTX and my Tascam MK488II. I have a few questions on the best way to record them.
If I choose not to seperate the snare, kick, etc. I will run 2 lines into channel 1 and 2. Since I am running stereo? What do I need to do for panning? Should channel 1 and 2 be in the middle or should 1 be hard left and 2 be hard right?
My other option is to utilize the 4 outputs. This way I will have the ability to raise or lower the Kick or the snare in the mix, but will I have to give up stereo, I'd imagine. I will then pan internally.
Also, what are the correct panning postions for the drums?
Please forgive me, for I am a drummer and know not what I do!
Thankyou for your help!
