I've recently reinstalled Cakewalk Home Studio on my computer and am having trouble with audio playback. When I click the "Play" button nothing happens. It's not as if the file is playing and I just can't hear the audio; the playback seems to instantly reset -- the cursor just goes back to the start position and the play button becomes active again. It's as if someone presses "stop" the instant I press "play."

I tried the demo files that came with the program and they playback fine. Please help!

Try this:
Check the file of the tracks and make sure they are .wav, then click on properties and make sure they are there full tracks. Maybe all the data didn't transfer to your pc. They should be at least 3 to 4Mb depending on the length. Check the manual and make sure that you have your program set up for what you want to do, it may be set to midi by default, and it won't read audio tracks...
I hope this helps.
