i also want to make everything from scratch...

this site is really cool
and i want to design it like that in my room

i was wondering if this will get my room perfect for my recording?

i dont care about extra sound from the outside because its sooo quiet in here....i just came about my recording being just my voice and no extra room sounds etc....bo slap backs or what not......i hate my recording because my voice doesnt seem to stick the the mic and catches a lot of extra space etc....

i read all the sites that i was supposed to read....seriously everything....but i dont really know where to start

first off, as far as i understand my MAIN SOURCE is

Rigid Fiberglass

which i can get no problem...

but i just dont know how much of everything i need ect

i included the pic below....i just have carpeting down....thast all...the room is empty....

i dont get how much of everything and what exactly to put...like i know what everything does and how to make it...but dont know the quantity...

for example...i know i need 2 bass traps per corner...thats times 4...so its 8 bass traps.....plus dont i need 2 more bass traps on each big wall and 1 on small walls? so thats 6.............8 plus 6.......thats 14 bass traps...
also 2 on each door......so thast 16 bass traps......what else...

how many broadband absorbers?

about 4 clouds right?

i need to also treat the windows i guess

please help...

just assume i have the rigit fiber glass
the fabric and wood

Thanks, Mr. M. I'm really flattered that you like my studio. However, following my lead will not get your room "perfect" for recording.

My home studio, like almost everyone else's, is a compromise. I had to work within parameters set by my scarce free time, my limited income, and the room itself. I'm getting away with it because recording is just a hobby for me, not a profession, so my standards can be pretty low. For example, I never even bothered to run any acoustic tests on my room after I treated it. There's no point in it because I've used up the free time and disposable income allotted to this project. Even if I found something objectionable, I'd probably just live with it at this point (or try to mitigate it with EQ).

for example...i know i need 2 bass traps per corner...thats times 4...so its 8 bass traps.....plus dont i need 2 more bass traps on each big wall and 1 on small walls? so thats 6.............8 plus 6.......thats 14 bass traps...

I'm going to let other, wiser people help you with the details. That's how I built my studio, after all -- I posted questions here and then read everything that people recommended. You're in good hands here.

By the way, you should tell members of the forum what kinds of recording you want to do and give them some idea of the equipment you'll be using. That will help them answer your specific questions about room treatment.
