Tim,
I am sure that the SI controller is not bootable (At least the 3114 controller). I had the same problem

Ahh Grasshopper!! But you can!!

I finally got the SATA drives working, and yes indeed it's bootable (SI 3112.)

Here's the deal!

CLUSTER ALLOCATION!

You have to go into Windows Disc Managment, and set the SATA drives Cluster size to 16K!
Windows formats at 4K by default, but SATA Raid is designed to work at 16K.
That was the problem.

Then when you go to install windows on the Sata drive (remove the IDE's completely and change the settings in BIOS) do NOT let Windows reformat it - that's why you have to format it from inside Windows - because Windows default Cluster size is 4K.

I finally got it working - and i'm on the SATA drives right now - and man they are FLYING. This PC is so much faster now it isn't funny. (keep in mind that my old HD was from around 1999 - so it was on it's last leg.)

Nice, kinda wish that I had the 3112. I run off my Intel SATA controller since I have no IDE drives
