"Since the M1 Active MKII are self powered, DO NOT connect them to the speaker putput of another amplifier (such as a powered mixer or a hi fi receiver). Connect them only to the line-level outputs of such devices"
There should be monitor out jacks, if there is only one it would be a stereo type (like for a headphone plug with two black rings) in which case you will have to make (or buy) a lead which goes from a TRS plug to 2 RCA type ones (if your monitors use RCA's)
Ask you local electronics shop what you wanna do and they will supply you with the right lead.
Thanks! Mmm... here's my dilemma one set of outs is +4 dBu (balanced)
THe other oned is -10 dBv (unbalanced and I need +4 dBu according to the speaker's manual but I want it unbalanced...
I would like to help but I don't know the difference between unblanced and balanced outs. I have been dying to know though. Someone please explain it to me.
Its all about your cables, balanced cables utilize 3 pins on XLR's and TRS jacks (Tip/ Ring /Sleeve).
Wiring system which uses two out-of-phase conductors and a common screen to reduce the effect of interference. For balancing to be effective, both the sending and receiving device must have balanced output and input stages respectively

I used a lot VM88 last 2 years. We also have active monitors with sub.Now I'm working with VF16, but I use the same outputs.
Well you need to connect your monitors to monitor output ,but turn the knob to the left.Don't use XLR outputs, because you have to keep the master slider too low and you can't use LED indicator. It will show very low level. So connect monitor output to your monitors and don't think why you don't use XLR outputs they are better for connecting to another mixer on stage for example
