I have a chance to get a rode k2 for 550aud.thats a great bargain. My only problem is my room isnt really accousticly treated that well (i have a few base traps and still hear reflections on condencers. Will i regret buying it? I already have an sm7b.

who can answer a question like that???

the K2 is a nice mic for what it is though, I've got one

...IMHO, having both mics you mentioned, I wouldn't spend the money on the K2 unless you plan to do at least some kind of isolation treatment...even something very basic, such as:

...I am very happy with my K2, but I must admit my "go to" mic is still the SM7-B...no worries about the neighbor's dog barking while I'm tracking...the K2 is a very sweet mic for the money (especially with a proper tube upgrade)...just a bit too sensitive for use in an untreated space (unless you like the sound of your computer's cooling fan)...then again, as I said, that's just MHO...;)

yeh, i probably dont need it. I"ll spend the money on apogee converters instead.:D

cheers
