Help please soundcard upgrades and previous compositions

i recently upgraded my soundcard to an audiophile 2496,was previously working with an audigy2,i ask, now that i have the new sound card,do i have to redo my previous recordings over the new card??
i ask because when i run my previous compositions with the new card,it still sounds crappy both analog and midi,so i wonder do i have to redo everything or is there a way to reset the recordings ,so everything comes clean?.
im running cubase with some virtual vst's like hypersonic,working with core duo 2 at 2.4ghz and 2gb or ram..with new audiophile 2496 soundcard

You should not have to redo previous work because previous work is not affected by the card. If it is sounding worse, then the most likely culprit will be found lurking in the settings, not in the card itself.

Ok But

what settings should i change to make it sound better??
i ask bc i went to project settings and changed the bit rate and format ,and it made the song go like the chipmunks lol
