HELLO... my problem is I have a RODE NT1 microphone and a standard mixing desk a BEHRINGER EURORACK MX802A it has phantom power to power the mic and a ST AUDIO DSP24V soundcard. I have recently bought these products and I was hoping to get my quality upto studio standards. I noticed that it seems kind of echoey when recording, I am not sure I have set up the soundcard right but I think it is and im not sure if the mixer needs something done to it. is the mic rubbish or need any add ons i have a pop shield for the mic. well any help / information would be much appreciated please. thanx

im using this setup to record solo tracks for rappers.

Well first off, none of your links work. I'm not familiar with your card.

What do you mean by "echoey"? Are you hearing an echo or delay? Please be specific.

your gears should give u a pretty decent result.

I guess your echoey thing may be your room sound. condensor mic like NT1 are pretty sensitive in picking up your room sound.

Does your room sounds alive?.... noticable echo when you talk, ringing sound when you clap... etc

you can put some blankets, matresses or furnituresa round to deaden the room ....

yeah.......try recording in a small dead room like a closet or somethng.......that did wonders for getting my vocal tracks to sit and sound better

your mixer is the same one i have...
i'll be the first to say that it IS A BUDGET mixer...

the pre's are NOT anything special....

so maybe if you want really warm and nice results, take a step or 2 up on your mic pre.

if you got the money, might as well go for it.

maybe the m-audio audiobuddy for a inexpensive, but apparently a lot better, mic pre.

hope it helps somewhat...lol

Does the "quality" in the room sound good? In other words, do you like the sound of what you hear in the room before you even put a mic in front of it? If you play a home recording grade guitar with old used up home recording grade strings in an untreated home recording grade room, a studio grade mic will not help you any.
