what is the relevance of reaching 1K?

Well, I really am a newbie to all this...

Just doing my first recording using Cubase, and it does not sound on CD or the website anywhere near as good as when on the nearfield monitors.

BUT what is this all about, reaching 1K? I would love to know...

And if you like to criticise, and analyse, pleasd listen to my one minute sample of a christmas carol (listen via my website link below) and let me know why it just is not as good as when I play it in Cubase on the monitors!
