Help me please!!!!!!!!!!! Error 208 wav files

This is a long shot, but i'm hoping someone might have an idea what to do.
hard drive dropped
attempted file recovery to different drive (drive 2)
most files on drive 2 now won't function
'invalid project file' when attempting to open cubase projects.
when trying to open raw wav files i get 'error 208-unknown error occurred'
6 months work down the toilet!!!!
any suggestions greatly appreciated

I'm not really an expert on this, but as a last resort have you tried finding the recorded tracks in the HD and dragging and dropping them into a new Cubase project? You'd lose all the arrangement and sync but at least you'd retrieve the recorded tracks.
