hey again,
I'm going to try to make this make as much sense as possible as i am bad at explaining things, even though this is rather simple.
Ok... I have a HOSA cable snake with all the plugs cut off so it's just these color coated cables. I want to use the inserts on my mixer as direct outs. so i was THINKING...instead of putting a cable halfway in, what if i soldered one end as a standard 1/4" plug, then on the other sides, i soldered the signal wire that goes on the tip of the 1/4" jack on one side, to the ring of a TRS cable on the other side, and of course the ground to the sleeve on the TRS plug. Would this make sense?? and would it work?
I don't care if it's plugged in halfway, but the mixer will be in front of all of my clients and a halfway plugged in cable might look kind of stupid/unprofessional. PLUS i'm putting new plugs on the snake anyway.
