This is about as straigtforward as it gets. Don't think of the diagrams as schematics - they are just pictures of the components, somewhat stylized, and how to hook them together.

Do you know how to solder? This would be important in building a project like this. If so, buy the components in the parts list. If you need help putting it together, post here or PM me and I'll be glad to walk you through it.

Doc...
Is that a rabbit fucking a dog? Or a dog fucking a rabbit?
Glendale huh? You're right down the street!:)

1; Why do you want to do this?

2; Do you know what type of mic you will end up with........presuming it works?

3; If the answer to #1 is to save money and the answer to #2 is yes, then I seriously suggest you reconsider and go have a look at a Behringer ECM8000, because that is essentially what you will be attempting to make.

I have been there done that with that type of capsule.

"Why do you want to do this?"

The main reason is because I think it would be a fun project if I can figure it out. Another reasons is from a person's quote over at harmony central that says, "These mics sound much, much better than they should, given the money put into them." I do know what they sound like, the tapeop message boards posted some sound clips awhile back of some recordings done with them, and they're very nice sounding.

I built one of these. It does sound really good, but I don't have a lot of experience with very many small diaphragm condensers to compare it with. The hard part is finding the capacitors. Otherwise it is an easy project to build. I thought their instructions were as basic and easy as you can get.

It's a neutered female miniature schnauzer humping a male rabbit. They switched positions a little later, but this photo had the best facial expressions.

Where are you at in Phoenix?
