I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO LEARN HOW TO MIX FOR ABOUT 2 YRS AND WATCHED ALL THE TUTORIALS OUT THERE WHICH HAVE PROVEN TO BE USELESS, WHEN I LOOK AT THE WAVE FORMS THEY ARE MIXING THEY LOOK LIKE THE PERFECT FORMATTED SINE WAVE... VOCALS AND ALL... THE AMPLITUDE(TOP) AND FREQUENCY(BOTTOM) LOOK THE SAME AND WHEN YOU ZOOM INN YOU SEE A PERFECT LOOKING WAVE.... MY QUESTION, CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN HOW THIS IS DONE WITH VOCALS AS WELL AS WITH SYNTHS, KICKS, SNARES ECT...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THNAK YOU IN ADVANCE:confused:

I HAVE PRO TOOLS 7.1

It's considered SHOUTING to use all caps. ;)

Ok, now....WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Really, try again, that didn't make much sense. Nice gear though.

And that he went out and bought several thousands of dollars worth of hardware and software before he even learned the very fundamentals of audio engineering, such as how all sounds are made of sine waves and that you mix with your ears, not your eyes?

Well said RAMI. And as for this...

Respect. Caddyboy, sell your gear and try recording on a microBR. When you can do that, upgrade.

Don't be too impressed by his setup . . . . .

click click . . zip zip . . . done.

I'm serious, its retarded.

Hey, you know what I used to do back the day? I bypassed the whole "ugly" wave thing and utilized my DUAL CASSETTE deck. Yeah baby. I popped a blank tape in the record side, cut a killer rhythm guitar track, moved that cassette to the play side, popped another blank tape in the record side, pressed play on the play side, and recorded a "shaker"! Yeah baby, then I would rotate the tapes back and forth until I had about 6 instruments recorded. Sure the audio from the original tracks degraded, everything was in mono, and the playing was shite, but I didn't have to look at ugly waveforms!! Yeah baby.

walters???

Nah, too eloquent.

Chessrock? ez? Some random person with far to much time on their hands?

I guess at least he didn't ask how to make his waveforms look completely square like "teh pro recordngz"

help help & help... sorry about the shouting guys.........

Did not know all caps was considered shouting, won't happen again. Actually I did not spend thousands of dollars on software that was a donation but it would have been a sin if i did spend the money. see i know that by calculating the amount of cycles in 1 sec i get the fundamental frequency. From there you multiply by 1,2,3 ect for the harmonic frequency(over tones), I guess what im asking is what would be the primary eq and how would i apply? Would i use a notch filter, would i use a bell, would i use a a low/high shelf or would i use a 5x Q? Also when i primary eq should i cut the odd harmonic frequency's or the even ones? Any help would be appreciated... also can some one tell me if this technique im looking for is FFT or DFT.:(

also how do you get the waveforms to look completely square like the pro's?

Sounds like a walters thread.

Asking how to get the waveforms to look like the pros? You gotta be kidding...

If after 2 years you're asking that question, then just give it up. If you're just trolling, then get a life.

Yea danny, I was suspecting as such before, but this confirms it

Take your EQ, put the high shelf all the way down and somewhere around 500Hz and take your low shelf EQ all the way down and put it aboout... 1K That's how to get sexy waves.
