Yup,

Most everything is covered in that thread.

Read it or break down, spend the 30 bucks on a manual from TASCAM's parts department.

Cheers! :)

wow some of that thread is crazy funny. You guys really LOVE your 312b's

Tascam 312B how good are these?

The Ghost:- I found one!!

This could be THE moment to ask about this desk!
I have seen one for sale so...would it "match" my TSR-8?

I have a decent mic pre already but I was wondering about general noise levels compared with modern gear like the Mackies? (VLZ1604PRO)

Finally if anyone can tell me if this desk might be an improvement on my Fostex 812 I would be very grateful!!

thanks

Yes, it will match perfectly with your TSR-8

Yes, it is a clean and VERY musical sounding desk.

Yes, it will walk all over your Fostex mixer.

If you have found one in decent condition and the price is right, buy it already! :D

Cheers! :)

Tascam 312B

Thanks Ghost!!!

It seems to be in reasonable condition.
Cosmetically not mint but all working with no known issues

How much do they go for?
ie how much should I pay?

thanks again!

Lately on Ebay, they're going for around $350 - $400 US, plus shipping.

Their original US retail was $3400.00

Cheers! :)

I have both 512 and 312 boards and manuals

But I am very busy right now and the manual is very thick. But soon, I sould be able to make you a copy for free. The signal flow chart is the single most important item in the manual. Except of course, you want to know the specifications, etc. I could possibly scan and stich the chart and email it to you.

The boards are very quiet. At maximum volume, with all the pots and sliders at max, (bass, mid (para), treble, volume, etc), there is absolute silence. No hiss, humm or crackle. I find the preamp of another vintage board Fostex 820 to be better that the Tascam's however.

Let me know.....

thanks for the info guys!

is there anyway i can get my hands on that signal flow chart.

i did'nt get a manual w. the equipment, but im starting to
figure out what all the everything does.

if i run input into a channel through the line in 1/4 plug why
doesnt the effects knob work?

and my right channel rca out seems "dirty" its not as loud
as the left. is there a way to get the pots cleaned to solve
this problem.

besides that it sounds great, creates a lot of ambient space.

thx.
